Who We Are Our Vision To fulfill the Great Commission to "go and make disciples" with the expectation that Jesus will establish and build His Church as we gather these disciples into a community of faith. Our Purpose and Goals Our purpose is to ensure that these expressions of the church, which we call VineLife Communities, are healthy and productive in the Kingdom of God. Our goals are to relationally connect and serve these communities through the gifted equippers whom Jesus gave to His church, "apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds and teachers" (Ephesians 4:11). In addition and when appropriate, we will offer the services of these gifted equippers to other established parts of the Body to assist them and help us to be relationally connected to one another, sharing resources as the Spirit directs. Our Strategy Our strategy is to pray, listen, and walk in obedience to what God is saying. We believe it is time to start convening relational gatherings of gifted equippers in our localities to recognize and share our gifts and experiences. Secondly, we believe that we are to mobilize those who God joins together to serve the body of Christ in its mission of evangelism, church planting and making disciples. One method of serving will be by conducting equipping events and mentoring those whom the Lord gives us through these events. Another example might be that local leaders have determined that their community needs to grow in prayer. We may be able to help by sending gifted equippers who are strong in prayer to work with them. Every Member a Minister There is no scriptural basis in the New Testament for a clergy-laity division in the Church, the body of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus did give the leadership ascension gift functions (gifted equippers) in Ephesians 4:11, of apostle, prophet, evangelist, shepherd and teacher, to the church for the purpose of equipping and building up of the saints, thus bringing them into the ministry work that God has called them to do. Every member of the body is to be trained and released into service according to his/her gift. If this is not our practice a flesh-based pecking order of offices and self proclaimed levels of anointing will arise and further divide the body. The goal of the Ephesians 4, gifted equippers is to work together in, ", equipping the saints for the work of service, "to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ."
